Participate in the WAVE in Ukraine online workshop

22-23 September 2022

 

WAVE is organising its 6th workshop for Ukrainian medical doctors on Thursday, 22 and Friday, 23 September from 16:00 to 17:45 CEST. The workshop will be interpreted in English and Ukrainian and will focus on STIs in women living with HIV – modern approaches to prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment.

Interview with the new YING Chair, Tristan Barber

Tristan Barber became the new YING Chair at the YING Conference in July 2022. In this interview, he shares what the added value is of the YING network and what he is looking forward to for the upcoming period. 

"As the new YING Chair, I am really looking forward to widening our network of participants and making things feel informal and accessible. I am looking forward to meeting more YINGers and ways to encourage more people to join YING. I am tremendously excited about the EACS Conference in Warsaw in 2023 and the next YING Conference in 2024".

EACS pre-conference workshop at the SFLS Conference

EACS is organising a pre-conference workshop in collaboration with SFLS (Société de la Lutte Contre le Sida) in Paris on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 from 14:00-18:00 CET on Healthcare for Migrants and Ukrainian exiles. The following topics will be discussed during the workshop:

  • Refugees in Europe: the scope of the problem, Teymur Noori (ECDC)
  • Healthcare for HIV in Ukraine before the war and today, Marta Vasylyev (Ukraine)
  • Update on the drug injectors in Eastern Europe, Oleksii Zavadinskiy and Anastasia Dieieva (Ukraine)
  • The Polish response to the refugee crisis from Ukraine, Justyna Kowalska (Poland)

PentaTr@ining: Fungal Infections in Paediatrics

A new interactive training course, 19 September - 15 December 2022.

 

The interactive online course comprises 6 comprehensive and thought-provoking training modules, a variety of real-life clinical cases for discussion, live webinars and dedicated tutoring from panel of expert trainers.

Building on the combined expertise within the EPMyN and Fungal Infections Group and the PentaTr@ining infrastructure, the aim is to deliver an international, accessible and affordable training course. The exciting training programme utilizes a child-centered teaching model to support ongoing learning needs with innovative e-learning methods.

EECA Interact 2022: call for abstracts.

13-14 December 2022

 

The third scientific workshop on HIV, Hepatitis C and Tuberculosis in Eastern Europe and Central Asia – EECA INTERACT 2022 – will be held on 13-14 December in Riga, Latvia.

EECA INTERACT 2022 will bring together scientists, clinicians, members of civil society, and government officials to tackle topics facing individual countries while building capacity and strengthening research and clinical networks.
Researchers from Eastern and Central Europe, Balkans, Central Asia, and the Baltics are encouraged to submit abstracts for peer review. There are a limited number of scholarships for the highest-scoring abstract presenters to attend the INTERACT workshop in person. The deadline for submission is 25 September.

If you are a nurse, doctor or healthcare professional involved with looking after people with monkeypox, we are asking you to contribute to this vital short survey on your experiences so far.

The survey will form part of a large piece of research understanding the experience of healthcare professionals from around the world. It is intended to better understand your experiences so as to inform policy discussions on what healthcare professionals are facing during this global monkeypox outbreak. This is being led by Professor Chloe Orkin, United Kingdom, and will support the international response.

It is anonymous and has ethics approval. It will take around 15 minutes to complete.
