The next International Symposium on HIV and Emerging Infectious Diseases (ISHEID) will exceptionnally be virtual and is scheduled from 17 to 20 May, 2021.
The understanding of HIV and HCV infections continues to grow rapidly, especially regarding our ability to develop novel prevention and therapeutic strategies that will lead to the reduction of new infections. The burden of non communicable diseases in HIV infected subjects implicates a multidisciplinary approach of the infection and the need of close interactions with specialists from other disciplines.
ISHEID 2021 will dedicate a privileged place to state-of-the-art presentations, as well as to debates among experienced and younger investigators regarding new data and their implications. This event will have invited lectures by European and International leaders, as well as oral abstracts and poster presentations.
It will be unique in its approach, as it will engage basic scientists and clinicians from the HIV, HCV and emerging infectious diseases fields.

Dear EACS members, dear friends,

2020 was an ‘annus horribilis’ for all of us; many have lost family members and dear friends to the COVID-19 pandemic; our working lives and personal lives have changed immeasurably.
But 2021 is the dawn of new era. The Sars-Cov2 vaccines are on the horizon; there is hope that this year we can return to ‘normality’ whatever that will mean for a world that has changed so much.

Abstract submissions are invited for the HepHIV 2021 Lisbon & Virtual Conference. The call for abstracts for HepHIV 2021 closes on 7 February 2021 and abstract decisions will be communicated to authors early April 2021.

2020 has been dominated by the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Europe. Many HIV-physicians are involved in the frontline to take care of COVID-19 patients and are needing to divide their time between the two patient populations. The implementation of quarantine, social distancing, and community containment measures have dramatically reduced access to routine HIV testing, challenging completion of UNAIDS' first 90-90-90 global target.

20-27 November 2020

The European Testing Week initiative will hold its November European Testing Week from 20 - 27 November 2020.

The aim is to unite partner organisations throughout Europe for one week to increase access to testing and promote awareness on the benefits of earlier hepatitis and HIV testing.
