EACS Governing Board retreat May 2013

The Society’s Governing Board met on May 16 and 17 for a retreat in Zurich Switzerland. Among other topics, the Board discussed the Society’s long-term strategy, organisational development and the education programme.

At the meeting, the Board has adopted a new mission statement:
The European AIDS Clinical Society is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to promote excellence in standards of care, research and education in HIV infection and related co-infections, and to actively engage in the formulation of public health policy, with the aim of reducing HIV disease burden across Europe.

With the new mission statement, the Society emphasises its intention to improve standards of care in treatment throughout Europe and to engage more actively in public health policy.
